Accounting Manager Trainee – a role that provides hands‑on experience in accounting operations, reporting, and finance management while developing key leadership skills.
Responsibilities- Record, classify, examine, and analyze fiscal transactions.
- Prepare financial statements and reports.
- Interpret general ledger, subsidiary ledgers, and other reports.
- Monitor and safeguard company assets through internal controls.
- Supervise accounting department operations, transaction‑processing, and policies.
- Track daily cash position and ensure liquidity.
- Assist in preparation of income, sales, property, and state tax returns.
- Work with management to ensure timely month‑end closing, account reconciliation, forecasting, and budget monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and internal guidelines.
- Review and approve credit applications and limits.
- Manage property and sales tax remittances.
- Add and maintain discount and premium codes and tables.
- Participate in audit preparations and risk‑assessment processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
- Knowledge of GAAP and IFRS.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel; database and spreadsheet skills.
- Understanding of fixed assets, receivables, cash processes, tax, reconciliation, and financial statements.
- Experience with accounting and financial software, automated data processing systems.
- Familiarity with forecasting, statistical modeling, and variance analysis.
- Basic knowledge of sales and use tax.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
- Organizational and prioritization abilities; adaptable to changing priorities.
- Attention to detail and ability to produce concise reports.
- Capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays if required.
Sedentary work, occasionally lifting up to 10 pounds. Requires good hearing, vision, and ability to read, write, and use a computer. Travel may be required for meetings and training.
