Location: Must permanently live in North Carolina, Virginia, or West Virginia.
Travel: 75% of the time.
Work Shift: Day.
Remote: Option available but must live in specified territory.
Compensation: Base salary $89,400 – $134,000. Additional incentive program possible.
Job DescriptionThe Portfolio Manager manages and grows a portfolio of dealer clients in the NC, VA, and W VA Markets with lines of credit ranging from $50,000 to $2.5M in an assigned geographic territory (Atlanta Northwest area). The role builds and maintains client relationships, optimizes portfolio usage, mitigates pre‑default risk, and supports post‑default collections.
Responsibilities- Optimize each client’s use of line of credit within the portfolio.
- Act as floor‑plan subject matter expert and achieve company performance targets.
- Engage clients in person or virtually to drive revenue, maximize profitability, and mitigate risk.
- Educate clients on desired performance behaviors, self‑service options, and best practices.
- Collect and analyze client financial information to assess performance and address growth opportunities.
- Use company data and tools to identify growth targets and financial distress.
- Collaborate with Risk and Recovery on pre‑default risk mitigation and post‑default collections.
- Minimize loss and maximize recovery.
- Conduct physical inspections of inventory, audit accuracy and repossessions as required.
- Act as fiduciary, reporting material non‑compliance or fraud.
- Maintain detailed documentation in Salesforce and complete campaigns.
- Onboard new clients for successful experience.
- Build cross‑functional relationships and support projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) with 4+ years in finance, client‑facing, B2B, account management or collections.
- Combination of an MS degree and 2+ years, or 8 years of experience may be considered.
- Knowledge of automotive and finance industries.
- Experience reading and analyzing financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, tax returns, bank statements).
- Strong financial acumen and familiarity with key financial tools.
- Ability to identify risk indicators via data tools.
- Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and collection skills.
- Time‑management ability and independent work in remote setting.
- Safety awareness and ability to visit clients up to 60% of the time.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and Salesforce.
