Position: OPERATIONS SECURITY SPECIALIST with Security Clearance
Location: Scott Air Force Base

Duties As a OPERATIONS SECURITY SPECIALIST at the GS-0301-13 some of your typical work assignments may include: * - Serve as the USTRANSCOM Operations Security (OPSEC) Program Manager (PM). Prepares, recommends, and manages execution of the command's OPSEC program. Develops long-range program plans, goals, objectives, and milestones to evaluate the effectiveness of the OPSEC program throughout USTRANSCOM's area of responsibility.

* Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft/vehicle to conferences, meetings, or functions away from the duty office/location. Travel may include overnight stays.
* This position must be removed from the Ready Reserve and cannot become a member of the Ready Reserve. (IAW: DoDD 1200.7, "Screening the Ready Reserve").
* This is a Mission Essential position performing a Mission Critical Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions.
* Special Sensitive:
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
* This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program.
* PMIAA Code: (1) Program Manager Qualifications You may qualify at the GS-GS-13 if you fulfill the following qualifications:

A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:
* Develop, direct and synchronize related OPSEC into operations, orders, and plans for Command level and subordinate units.
* Identifies and controls critical information, indicators of friendly force actions applicable to DoD military operations and global logistics movements, and incorporates countermeasures to reduce adversary exploitation of Command level sensitive information and vulnerabilities.
* Develop OPSEC countermeasures specific to command level operations.
* Provides intelligence integration via liaison activity ex. J2 information activities branch.
* Ensures annual OPSEC briefings and trainings to civilian and military employees at the Command level. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, Ameri Corps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level. Additional information Veterans Employment Opportunity Act (VEOA):
