Location: Ohio
As a Human Services Developer, you will play a critical role in supporting fatherhood initiatives, maintaining the Putative Father Registry (PFR), providing technical assistance to stakeholders, and contributing to policy development and program oversight. This position combines policy analysis, customer service, program administration, research, training, and data management responsibilities. You may spend one part of your day conducting confidential registry searches, another part responding to inquiries from attorneys or child welfare agencies, and later participate in program planning meetings or develop training materials for service providers.
Putative Father Registry Administration
* Conduct confidential database searches within the Putative Father Registry.
* Process registry requests and maintain accurate records and computerized logs.
* Obtain and verify information from parents, attorneys, courts, county agencies, and private providers.
* Prepare written responses to inquiries and ensure timely processing of alerts and requests.
* Provide technical assistance to individuals and organizations regarding registry requirements and procedures.
Policy and Program Support
* Research, analyze, develop, and revise policies, procedures, and administrative rules.
* Interpret federal and state statutes, agency policies, and regulations.
* Research and respond to inquiries from legislators, agencies, providers, and the public.
* Assist with oversight of fatherhood and co-parenting programs funded through the agency.
Training and Technical Assistance
* Deliver training to providers and stakeholders on registry processes and data systems.
* Provide technical assistance regarding ETO (Efforts to Outcomes) and other reporting systems.
* Develop PowerPoint presentations, training materials, and resource guides.
* Engagement in state prison and youth detention facilities.
* Present information to internal and external stakeholders.
Research and Program Development
* Research evidence-based and evidence-informed fatherhood and co-parenting curricula.
* Analyze program outcomes and best practices at the federal, state, and local levels.
* Assist in developing Requests for Grant Applications (RFGAs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
* Participate on Application Review Teams (ARTs) and support contract and sub-grant administration activities.
Administrative and Organizational Support
* Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and document meeting notes.
* Update website content and maintain program records.
* Produce reports, correspondence, and other program documents.
* Travel occasionally for meetings, conferences, trainings, and stakeholder engagement.
Pay Information:
Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be step 1 of the salary range associated with this position. New hires advance to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Based on collective bargaining and legislative activity, there may be cost of living increases awarded annually. Additional longevity supplements begin after 5 years. The current wage progression for this position is in the table below.
