Location: Scott Air Force Base
Duties
* Provide advice, assistance, and guidance covering a wide variety of travel-related financial program requirements for the Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC), SDDC's subordinate units and staff offices.
* Provides guidance and customer service for the Travel Program to assist to travelers, Approving Officials, Certifying Officers, Accounting and Budget personnel.
* Ensures the processing and/or reviewing of Defense Travel System (DTS) travel documents.
* Provide support for the control and coordination of all required actions for the successful deployment, operation and management of the Government Travel Charge Card (GTCC) program for all SDDC military and civilian personnel.
* Supports financial management execution in DTS.
* Provide customer service and/or assistance to travelers, approving officials, certifying officers, and budget personnel.
* Identifies potential discrepancies, develops corrective action plans, and ensures compliance of the Command's travel regulation compliance program. Requirements Conditions of employment
* Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
* Position requires a Secret Security Clearance. incumbent must obtain and maintain a secret clearance for the duration of employment.
* This is a Financial Management Level 2 Certified position designated as such in accordance with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Public Law 112-81, Subtitle F-Financial Management, section 1051, amending 10 USC, section 1599d.
* Incumbent may be subject to a probationary period of one year unless already completed.

Specialized
Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes;1) advising personnel on appropriate travel and transportation methods;
2) maintaining accountability for the disbursement of allocated funds;
3) remaining up to date on travel regulations, procedures, and directives; and
4) performing travel administrator duties using a travel software application. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR
Education:
Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of
Education and Experience:
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18.
