Inspector General with Security Clearance

Location: Scott Air Force Base

Duties
* Instruct personnel on compliance requirements to resolve systemic organizational issues.
* Resolve assistance requests by coordinating corrective actions.
* Conduct administrative inquiries to investigate regulatory violations.
* Execute programmatic inspections to identify systemic deficiencies.
* Author executive briefings to communicate compliance findings to leadership.
* Analyze organizational data trends to identify high-risk compliance areas.
* Advise management teams on regulatory rules to support informed decision-making.
* Coordinate resolution efforts with external offices to address complainant concerns.
* Evaluate operational programs to measure compliance with established standards.
* Safeguard confidential database systems to protect sensitive investigative information. Requirements Conditions of employment
* Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
* Position requires incumbent to be a graduate of the U.S. Army Inspector General School and maintain certification in accordance with regulation AR 20-1.
* Position requires database check against the Army Inspector General Action Request (IGARS) database to screen for substantiated and ongoing IG investigation.
* Any serious criminal activity, to include drug use, will result in the immediate removal of incumbent from IG duty; as well as loss of access to IGARS and IGNET.
* This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of at least 25% of the time.
* This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
* All Army Civilian Inspector Generals must attend the Inspector General Advanced course every five years as part of CP 55 and as part of functional training for all 1801-series personnel.
* This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
* This position requires practicing of Inspector General attributes, as a mandatory requirement for continued employment as an Army Inspector General. Experience:

One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Instructing work forces on compliance requirements and systemic issue resolution to evaluate training program effectiveness; (2) Resolving requests for assistance and compliance complaints by conducting fact-finding and coordinating corrective actions; (3) Conducting administrative investigations into allegations of regulatory violations to produce official reports of investigation; (4) Executing multi-functional compliance inspections of operational programs to identify systemic deficiencies and root causes;

and (5) Authoring executive briefings and trend reports to communicate complex compliance findings to senior leadership. Applicants referred for consideration will be subject to a database check against the Army's IGARS database to screen for substantiated and ongoing IG investigations. An SSN and current resume is required to conduct the background investigation; applicants must supply their SSN when asked by the hiring authority.

Applicants and employees must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a minimum of a secret-level security clearance. A minimum of an interim secret security clearance is required before an individual can perform any IG functions or have access to IG records. IG positions are designated as noncritical sensitive. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.
