As the Village continues to develop and our population and service demands increase, we are adding new positions to ensure we maintain the high standard of service our residents & businesses expect and deserve.

• 12-Hour patrol shifts - enjoy every other weekend off
• Full Illinois Police Pension + 457 Deferred Comp options
• 7 step salary scale - $78,552 to $112,858 (will increase with contract ratification)
• No written exam or POWER Test for laterals
• Lateral immediately after State Certification!

• Certified police officer in the State of Illinois
• High school diploma or GED
• US Citizen
• Valid Driver’s License
• Must be 21 years of age at time of appointment
• Must successfully pass:
  • Background investigation
  • Interview
  • Polygraph
  • Psychological & medical exams
  • Drug screening
  • Review of past/current performance evaluations

No P.O.W.E.R. card or written exam required for eligible lateral applicants.
