Duties
As a SUPV LOGISTICS MGMT SPECIALIST (STRATEGIC EXERCISE PLANNER) at the GS-0346-14 some of your typical work assignments may include:
- Responsible for all aspects of USTRANSCOM's Joint Exercise Program, including leading and providing expert oversight over all joint exercise program initiatives.
- Plan, design, organize, direct, and oversee the basic missions of the Joint Exercise Branch and integrates Transportation Component Commands exercise training objectives into a comprehensive joint exercise program.
- Ensure Command's Joint Mission Essential Tasks (JMET), Commander's Guidance, and Exercise Objectives are integrated into the exercise design and scenario constructs.
- Manage the Joint Exercise Program budget of $30M within an enterprise of more than 140K personnel that make up USTRANSCOM and components/subordinate commands.
- Assign workload of subordinate non-supervisory positions taking into consideration skills and qualifications, mission requirements, EEO and diversity objectives.
- Coordinate with USTRANSCOM senior staff, Service Component Commands (AMC, ARTRANS and MSC), Subordinate Commands (JECC), NGB, USCG, and other national, private sector, non-governmental organizations, and local agencies to schedule and organize numerous exercise events.

Situational telework may be authorized based on operational requirements, contingent upon Agency and Supervisor approval. - This is a Key position. Incumbents must be removed from their military recall status if alternatives for filling the position during an emergency are not available (see Additional Information section)
- Travel and relocation expenses, if approved, will be paid IAW JTR and AFMAN 36-606
- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use
- Work may require travel through use of military or scheduled commercial transportation in the performance of temporary duty assignments, both CONUS and OCONUS.
You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service:
- Managing planners through all aspects of the Joint Exercise Life Cycle to include scheduling, resourcing, planning, design, development, execution and budgeting.
- Setting work schedules and priorities; assigning work based on priorities and employee capabilities, evaluates performance, and advises on work and administrative matters.
- Overseeing development of after action reports for all field training and command post exercises.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
