AIR Transportation Operations Specialist Security Clearance

Position: AIR TRANSPORTATION OPERATIONS SPECIALIST with Security Clearance
Location: Scott Air Force Base

Duties The primary purpose of this position is:
To serve as the command level senior technical expert and focal point for the execution of nuclear air operations. Applying Air Force military rated aviator experience , plans, directs, organizes and determines necessary policies, regulations, directives, instructions, programs, projects, doctrine, methods and procedures of Air Mobility Command nuclear enterprise forces. * Serves as senior command nuclear air transportation expert at HQ AMC.
* Performs substantial, extensive, in-depth analysis of AFTRANS nuclear execution force operational problems, methods, procedures and techniques and the potential impact on strategic air assets.
* Represents HQ AMC/A3/10NTwith a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
* Uses expert knowledge of Air Force military aircrew, unit and HHQ to draft, analyze, develop, and evaluate detailed plans, planning factors, tasks, and objectives for long-range implementation of assigned plans and operational concepts. Requirements Conditions of employment

* May travel by military or commercial air to conferences, meetings, or other functions away from the duty site.
* Rated military aviator experience is required and/or operational experience is highly desired for the successful performance of the work.
* May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty, with brief advanced notice, to meet special or essential unscheduled activities.
* Position is designated special-sensitive and incumbent must be able to obtain and retain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
* This position is designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. The employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. (cont'd)

EXPERIENCE:

Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes experience in maintaining, retailing, purchasing, or procurement of automotive, rail, air, bus, or other transportation equipment or services, or in the operation of a commercial transportation facility or terminal. This experience must have demonstrated knowledge of fleet operations;

familiarity with Federal, State, and municipal regulations governing the use of transportation vehicles; and the maintenance of inventories and cost computations; expert knowledge of Air Force nuclear operations policies, concepts, principles, and methodologies applicable to nuclear operations under peacetime and wartime conditions;
Expert knowledge of a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of critical command plans and programs for participating in or conducting major operations;
Extensive knowledge of military command structure, missions, programs, and organizational relationships and program goals and objectives, the sequence and timing of key operational events and milestones, and methods of evaluating the effectiveness of planning actions as related to actual events;
Knowledge of various command entities involved in overall planning and execution of nuclear and air operations. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS:
