Liberty Healthcare seeks applicants for a Clinical Postdoctoral Fellowship in Psychology at the Illinois Department of Human Services Treatment & Detention Facility in Rushville, Illinois.
About the FacilityThe Treatment & Detention Facility is a state‑of‑the‑art secure residential treatment facility that provides a wide array of mental health services to over 500 detained and civilly committed adult sexual offenders.
Clinical services are delivered by a dedicated team of over forty psychologists, clinical social workers, professional counselors, psychiatrists, and recreation therapists.
Program DetailsThis one‑year fellowship begins in August 2026 and ends in August 2027.
- At program completion, fellows will be considered for continued employment with Liberty Healthcare.
- Fellows will receive a minimum of two hours of licensed supervision each week, one from the Director of Training & Research and another from a licensed psychologist on staff.
- Co‑facilitate sex‑offender specific group treatment (approximately 15 hours per week).
- Manage a primary caseload of approximately 15 residents, including treatment planning and case conceptualization.
- Complete a minimum of six in‑depth psychological batteries and several cognitive assessments during the training year.
- Intensive group treatment of sexually violent persons using a co‑therapist model of research‑driven, cognitive‑behavioral treatment.
- Primary therapist responsibilities with a sexual offender population, including individualized treatment planning and support.
- Administer, score, and interpret psychological tests and write comprehensive psychological evaluations for offenders entering sex‑offender treatment.
- Research opportunities as available.
- Monthly all‑staff case conferences and group training in sexual offender treatment.
- Twice‑weekly didactic seminars.
- Off‑site field trips.
This is a full‑time position offering an annual stipend of $55,000.
Benefits include 180 hour paid time off (22.5 eight‑hour days), medical and dental insurance, and other benefits.
Fellows will work standard 40‑hour workweeks, Monday through Friday.
Eligibility and Requirements- Successfully completed a pre‑doctoral internship.
- Successfully defended dissertation.
- Doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology.
- Must pass all pre‑employment security procedures required by the Illinois Department of Human Services and Liberty Healthcare.
- Must meet licensure eligibility requirements for the Illinois Licensed Associate Sex Offender Treatment Provider credential. Assistance with this will be provided.
