EVS Tech - Evening Shift

JOB TITLE:

ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES DIRECTOR

HOURS & SHIFT REQUIREMENTS:
Full time position. Evening shift Tuesday 4:30pm
-1:00AM, Wednesday thru Sunday 1:00 pm – 9:30 pm, with holiday rotation.

The director will provide leadership, direction, and management oversight for continuous improvement of the standard EVS operating model within the facility. Leads all operational coordination for environmental services for one or multiple sites. Provides staff leadership, makes sound business decisions in support of the hospital’s mission; and supports the hospital’s vision. Manages the day-to-day operations of the department; ensures a consistently high level of cleanliness and appearance to patients, visitors, and staff.

• Develops a strategic plan for the department in alignment with the overall organizational plan.
• Monitors key performance improvement activities (e.g., goals, key indicators, data collection, and effectiveness of process change).
• Formulates, communicates, and analyzes budget, to include capital requests and expenses.
• Establishes a departmental dashboard to track, trend, and report KPIs.
• Ensure compliance with federal regulations, standards, and professional standards related to workspace design, labor, transport, and maintenance and operations of environmental services.
• Conducts performance reviews at least annually.
• The Director is responsible for the following:
• Plans daily work schedule.
• Purchase equipment and supplies.
• Trains new personnel.
• Keeps records, inventories, and employee worksheets.
• Routinely monitors EVS staff cleaning and sanitization processes.
• May perform other related duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
• Maintains good employee attitudes and morale.
• Tours the hospital periodically, covering each assigned area to observe EVS staff at work and to determine that cleaning and sanitization practices are followed and safety rules are observed.

• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, squat, bend, twist, kneel, and push carts.

• Waist to shoulder - 35 pounds
• Shoulder to overhead - 10 pounds
• Carry 40 pounds for 30 feet
• Push 40 pounds/force for 30 feet
• Pull 40 pounds/force for 30 feet
• Carry 40 pounds away from body for 30 feet

Reports to the Executive Director of Supply Chain.
