Per Diem Pharmacist in Retail Pharmacy | Elizabeth, Illinois

Provide essential pharmaceutical care as the sole pharmacist in a newly opened retail pharmacy located in Galena, Illinois. This per diem opportunity offers coverage from May 26th to June 5th, working 1st shift, Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. The pharmacy serves clinic patients in-house, resulting in a low-volume environment supported by an experienced pharmacy technician proficient with the Pioneer software system.

Responsibilities:

• Dispense medications accurately and safely under the direct supervision of the pharmacy manager.
• Counsel and advise patients regarding their medications and therapeutic regimens.
• Handle patient inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally and in line with organizational protocols.
• Maintain stock levels and ensure proper record-keeping for controlled drugs and inventories.
• Address patient problems and clarify third-party insurance coverage issues promptly.

Desired

Experience:

• Active and clear pharmacist license in the state of Illinois.
• Minimum of 1 year retail pharmacy experience.
• Familiarity with Pioneer pharmacy software is beneficial.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently in a low-volume pharmacy environment.
