Pharmacist in Charge - Relocation Assistance Available
Monday-Friday 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM. Pharmacy will close for lunch 12:30 PM – 1:00 PM.
Primary Role:
Preparing and dispensing appropriate pharmaceuticals to patients, leading a team of pharmacy technicians and managing the overall day‑to‑day pharmacy responsibilities. The job entails a high level of responsibility and knowledge.
- Review and execute provider’s prescriptions, checking their appropriateness and legality.
- Organize the pharmacy efficiently to facilitate easy and fast product identification.
- Maintain full control over medication inventory, stocking and labeling, and monitor condition to prevent expiration or deterioration.
- Listen carefully to customers, interpret their needs and issues, and offer information and advice.
- Prepare medicine when appropriate using correct dosages and materials for each individual patient.
- Maintain patient profiles and history of all activities regarding medications dispensed.
- Keep abreast and stay current with HIPAA and Frauds, Waste and Abuse credentialing.
- Comply with all applicable legal rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Ensure that the Pharmacy and its employees are compliant with Federal, State, and Local laws regulated.
- Ensure that the Pharmacy and its employees are aware of and compliant with local facilities policies.
- Direct the daily work of Pharmacy Technicians, including providing input into performance evaluations and advising Senior Management of any behavioral and/or performance issues.
- Manage Pharmacy Technicians’ schedules, including advising Senior Management of requests for leave of absences or medical accommodations.
- PharmD is required for this role.
- Current license to practice (PharmD) in Illinois.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Previous experience working within a retail pharmacy environment.
- Ability to utilize a Patient Management System in the Pharmacy.
- Minimum 3–5 years retail pharmacy manager experience.
- Standing for prolonged periods of time.
- Use of hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Fine motor skills.
