Location: Ridgway

Come join our awesome team as a Speech Therapist with Home Health of Western Colorado.

This is a PRN role and requires pediatric experience.

Pay: $45.90–$51.20 per hour, based on experience.

Schedule:

PRN and requires travel to clients' homes.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master’s degree in Speech Pathology with Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC), or equivalent one‑year experience working with adults or children with disorders of neurological origin (language comprehension, expression, cognition, articulation, voice, fluency, swallowing).
  • Valid license in Speech Pathology in the state (where applicable) or actively accumulating the supervisory experience required for license.
  • Registration with the Department of Health or eligibility.
  • Recommended member of Speech Language Hearing Association.
  • Recommended member of Speech Hearing Association.
  • Strong auditory and visual integration, ability to synthesize large amounts of information, and excellent written and interpersonal communication.
  • Ability to read, write, interpret professional evaluation materials, prepare in‑services, administer testing, and make clinical judgments.
  • Independent reasoning and problem‑solving related to self, clients, and others.
  • Ability to handle stress from a caseload that may involve frustrated clients.
  • Strong organizational and scheduling skills.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Interest in geriatric rehabilitation.
  • Ability to operate personal computers, Servox, augmentative devices.
  • Compliance with the Speech Language Pathology Practice Act in the state.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Evaluate and develop appropriate treatment plans to restore or improve communication efficiency for clients.
  • Formulate effective treatment plans per physician request and obtain approval for services from referring physician.
  • Initiate ordered treatments and communicate with physicians regarding client progress.
  • Document evaluations, weekly progress notes, discharge summaries, and other pertinent information as required by agency policies, third‑party payers, state, and federal regulations.
  • Maintain proper documentation and records according to policy and procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members regarding client progress, problems, and plans.
  • Participate in rehab and client care planning conferences at regular intervals.
  • Provide client, family, and staff with education as needed.
  • Participate in in‑service training programs for staff as requested.
  • Perform other duties or special assignments as directed by the Director of Clinical Services.
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED
  • 1 year(s) experience working with adults/children with disorders of neurological origin (language comprehension, expression, cognition, articulation, voice, fluency, swallowing).
  • Master’s or higher in Speech‑Language Pathology or related field.
  • Speech therapist certification and licensing.
