Schedule

Primarily Monday – Friday Participation in on-call rotation

Manager on Duty (MOD) assignments as needed

Occasional weekend and evening monitoring to ensure consistent compliance across all shifts

Position Overview The Infection Preventionist RN plays a key leadership role in maintaining infection control standards, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting best practices throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities Monitor, track, and manage infections across the facility

Oversee and maintain the Antibiotic Stewardship Program Audit infection control practices in all departments

Ensure compliance with CDC, state, and federal guidelines

Educate staff on infection prevention protocols and best practices

Collaborate with nursing leadership, providers, and department heads

Support wound prevention and monitoring initiatives

Compensation RN Starting Wage: $33.00 – $35.00/hour Experience Pay: +$0.10/hour per year of experience (up to 20 years)
Final rate based on experience and qualifications

Qualifications

Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license required

Interest or experience in Infection Prevention and Quality Improvement Willingness to complete CDC Infection Preventionist training

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Ability to collaborate across multiple departments

Detail-oriented with strong auditing and documentation skills
