PayExpected pay: $20.41 - $24.01/hour (hourly position). Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.
Position SummaryThe Certified Medical Assistant will perform delegated clinical and administrative duties consistent with Medical Assistant program education, training, and experience. He or she may work in both the clinical and front office functions of the practice, providing clerical support, assisting in the delivery of health care and patient care support activities at the direction of the physician/provider. Duties are performed in accordance with the specific needs of the practice.
Qualifications- High School Diploma or GED and completion of a Medical Assistant training program.
- Or, at least 6 months experience in a Certified Medical Assistant role, or proof of completion of an on‑the‑job training/education program for certified medical assisting in another healthcare organization.
- Current certification by one of the following agencies:
- AAMA – Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
- AMT or AAH – Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
- NCCT – National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
- NHA – Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
- NAHP – Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)
- Previous experience as a medical office assistant, CNA or equivalent.
- Experience with electronic health records or phlebotomy.
- For Rural Health Clinic setting, BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
