Union County Ambulance Service responds to all of the county’s 911 emergency medical calls 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Union County Ambulance Service is licensed as a Paramedic Advanced Life Support service through the Illinois Department of Public Health. We practice under protocol driven medical treatment from the Southern Illinois RegionalEMSSystem out of Memorial Hospital of Carbondale under the supervision of Dr.
Joseph Haake. Union County Ambulance Service has three ALS (advanced life-support) licensed ambulances and one BLS (basic life-support) ambulance. We host several in‑house educational opportunities annually to ensure our staff stays up to date on care, treatments, and equipment. Union County Ambulance Service actively participates with youth groups, schools, and other community organizations to facilitate awareness and serve our community to the best of our ability.
By doing so we hope to set a good example and serve as role models for our youth in the process. Union County Ambulance Service is honored to serve the citizens of Union County.
Respond to medical emergencies and deliver patient care, support and evaluation in a pre‑hospital setting, such as on the scene and during transport to an emergency facility.
- Operate an emergency medical vehicle
- Examine and evaluate patient to determine the right course of treatment
- Provide patient with emergency care by utilizing appropriate techniques and equipment
- Document patient information, condition, and treatment
- Maintain patient confidentiality and perform all care with respect for patient rights
- Communicate professionally with medical personnel staff at emergency facilities
- Maintain daily cleaning schedules of the Union County Ambulance Service living quarters
- Maintain daily cleaning of his/her ambulance
- Possess a valid Illinois driver’s license
- Possess a valid Illinois or Nationally Registered EMT Basic License or Paramedic License Successfully complete employment screening
Full‑time and part‑time
Work schedule is 24 hours on shift and 48 hours off.
Wage range: $51,600.00 - $73,000.00
Full‑time benefits include:
