Role OverviewAs the Director of Lab Operations, you will oversee the daily technical and scientific operations of clinical laboratories. You will manage laboratory budgets, ensure rigorous adherence to CAP/federal/state regulations, and lead strategic initiatives to expand service lines. This role requires a strong leader capable of mentoring team members and driving high-performance outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Operational Leadership: Direct daily technical and scientific laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards (CAP, federal, and state).
- Financial Management: Manage laboratory lanes to budget through effective cost-savings initiatives, productivity tracking, and capital resource management.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure strict adherence to comprehensive quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) programs.
- Team Development: Mentor and develop staff, driving employee engagement and fostering continuous competency and performance improvement.
- Strategic Projects: Lead the development, expansion, and execution of new service lines and long-term strategic projects.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related sciences required;
Master's degree in business or relevant sciences preferred. - Experience: Minimum of 8 years of laboratory management experience dealing with high-complexity and high-volume testing.
- Certifications: Medical Technologist registry (ASCP, NCA, AAB, or equivalent) is required.
- Licensure: Florida Supervisor license is preferred.
