Activities Director
Join our dynamic team at Shelbyville Healthcare & Senior Living, where we believe everyone deserves quality care, where caring and compassion meet. As an Activities Director, you will have the opportunity to create a vibrant and engaging activities program that fosters socialization, recreation, and personal growth for our residents.
Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and evaluate activities programs that cater to the diverse interests and abilities of our residents.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as Nursing, Therapy, and Dietary, to ensure resident-centered care and support.
- Plan and execute activities that promote physical, mental, psycho-social, and spiritual well-being, including arts and crafts, exercise classes, games, and entertainment events.
- Recruit and train volunteers to assist with activities and provide support to residents.
- Assess and document resident participation and satisfaction, making adjustments to the program as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and reports of activities, including attendance, participation, and any issues or concerns.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures.
- Activity Director experience in a skilled nursing setting, with a strong understanding of the elder adult population.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with residents, families, and staff.
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and prioritize resident needs and preferences.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in recreation therapy, gerontology, or a related field preferred.
- Competitive salary: $16.5 - $18.5 per hour.
