JOB SUMMARY

The Informatics Specialist serves as a clinical and technical liaison between nursing staff, healthcare providers, and Information Technology teams. This role is responsible for optimizing clinical workflows, supporting electronic health record (EHR) initiatives, facilitating system implementations, and promoting data-driven patient care outcomes. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience with MEDITECH systems and a strong understanding of nursing practice, clinical operations, and healthcare technology.

THIS IS AN ONSITE POSITION, NO REMOTE WORK OFFERED

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Serve as the primary nursing informatics resource for MEDITECH applications and related clinical systems.
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership, clinical staff, physicians, and IT teams to identify workflow improvement opportunities.
  • Lead and support MEDITECH implementation, optimization, upgrade, and enhancement projects.
  • Analyze clinical workflows and recommend system configurations to improve efficiency, quality, and patient safety.
  • Develop, maintain, and update clinical documentation templates, order sets, forms, and workflows within MEDITECH.
  • Provide end-user training, education, and ongoing support for clinical applications.
  • Participate in system testing, validation, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
  • Monitor regulatory requirements and ensure EHR compliance with organizational policies and healthcare standards.
  • Create and analyze reports, dashboards, and clinical performance metrics to support operational and quality initiatives.
  • Act as a change agent to promote adoption of new technologies and best practices.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
  • Maintain documentation related to system changes, workflows, and training materials.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or healthcare related field
  • Previous experience working with EMR (Electronic Medical Record)
  • Strong understanding of EHR workflows, clinical documentation, order management, and patient care processes.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Must be able to demonstrate computer skills in a Windows environment.
  • Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
  • Nursing experience preferred.
