Expected pay for this position is $26.99 - $31.75/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.

This is an Hourly position.

The Pastoral Care Professional - HC is an integral part of a Pastoral Care team that embraces a model of care for the whole person - body, mind and spirit. Directed to the spiritual dimensions of the human person that are often appreciated more deeply during times of illness, pastoral care is an integral part of the patient care team. Pastoral Care Professionals are effectively integrated with patient care and family support services on patient care throughout OSF.

The Pastoral Care Professional is the spiritual care specialist and provides spiritual and emotional support and counseling to patients, families, and staff in accordance with OSF policy, mission and objectives. Pastoral Care works closely with other members of the Home Health, Hospice and Palliative Care interdisciplinary teams assisting with holistic care of patients and families, responding to the patient and family spiritual needs within the boundaries of their desired belief system.

A foundational focus of Pastoral Care is to serve as a pastoral and spiritual support to patients, care givers and patient care teams in ways they identify as meaningful and helpful. Through professional training and certification, the Pastoral Care Professional assists patients/families to understand more fully life's events as they relate to their spiritual and emotional well-being.

Required Qualifications:

• Education:
  
  Bachelor's degree from an accredited college, university, seminary, divinity school or acceptable equivalent.
• Experience:
  
  Three years of pastoral experience in a health care setting with progressive responsibility. Successful completion of two units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) from an approved OSF CPE provider or completion within one year of hire.
• Other Skills/Knowledge:
  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented. Must meet requirements of the local Catholic Diocese regarding the appointment pastoral care staff of a Catholic healthcare institution. Ability and desire to work with patients/family, clergy, staff and volunteers of varying faith backgrounds. Flexibility in work hours, programs, and services and the ability to take on-call shifts nights and weekends as needed.
  
  Ability to articulate the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Facilities. Provides own transportation and auto insurance and abides by all laws, rules and recommendations for safe driving while on duty. Maintains a valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Education:
  
  Master's degree from an accredited college, university, seminary, divinity or acceptable equivalent.
• Experience:
  
  Successful completion of four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) from an approved OSF CPE provider. One or more year's pastoral care experience in a healthcare setting working with life threatening illness and death/dying.
