Rooted in hip-hop culture and trauma-informed practice, we create spaces for peer connection, storytelling, mutual support, and practical wellness. We focus on recovery maintenance, community engagement, and preparing people to become the next generation of peer facilitators and community leaders.

We are hiring full-time Peer Recovery Specialists in North Carolina and Virginia who will begin in a community-facing peer support role and move into our Facilitator Training Pathway.

This is an entry point for individuals with lived experience who are ready to support others while developing the skills to facilitate peer groups, recovery circles, and community programming. Selected candidates will receive a $5,000 scholarship to support training, certification, and professional development as they progress into facilitator roles.

• Provide one-on-one and group peer support to individuals navigating recovery, healing, and life transitions
• Share lived experience in a respectful, nonjudgmental way that promotes hope and practical recovery maintenance
• Help participants develop and follow wellness and recovery maintenance plans
• Connect community members to local resources and supports
• Coordinate with care teams and community partners while maintaining clear peer (non-clinical) boundaries
• Facilitate or co-facilitate peer support groups, recovery circles, and culturally responsive workshops
• Document interactions accurately and confidentially
• Participate in team meetings, supervision, and ongoing training
• Support community events and programming that uplift recovery narratives
• Progress into facilitator training with scholarship support

• Lived experience with recovery (mental health, substance use, trauma, or related) and readiness to use that experience to support others
• Strong active listening, empathy, conflict de-escalation, and strengths-based communication skills
• Understanding of trauma-informed care, harm reduction, and culturally responsive support—especially within hip-hop and marginalized communities
• Ability to facilitate groups and co-create practical wellness plans
• Basic documentation and organizational skills
• Comfort working with interdisciplinary teams
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Peer Recovery Specialist, Community Health Worker, or similar training/certification strongly preferred (Virginia CPRS or North Carolina CPSS preferred)
• Ability to work full-time in North Carolina or Virginia (some evenings/weekends as needed)
• Commitment to equity, continuous growth, and becoming a facilitator/leader in the community

This role is peer recovery support and recovery maintenance focused. It does not include clinical diagnosis or independent clinical treatment.
