Certified Surgical Technologist
The Certified Surgical Technologist has responsibilities to perform duties in all areas of the unit, Central Supply, Major and Minor Surgery areas and Outpatient Surgery. Specific tasks include, but are not limited to: scrubbing surgical cases, assisting surgeons in general, orthopaedic, podiatry, spine, and ENT procedures, cleaning, wrapping, and sterilizing surgical instruments and equipment using autoclave, chemical sterilization method, ordering and stocking supplies, scrubbing for surgical cases, setting up and maintaining sterile field, passing instruments, assisting in admitting and discharging of patients from surgical suite, collecting, labeling and delivering pathological specimens to laboratory, serving as assistant for endoscopic procedures, cleaning equipment between cases.
Other knowledge includes monitoring laparoscopic, endoscopic, arthroscopic, orthoscopic, and general surgical equipment.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technologists.
- Current Certification as CST.
- Current CPR certification.
- May be required to work any day of the week including holidays and weekends.
- Physical requirements include long periods of standing, lifting, stooping, bending, and pushing.
