Job DescriptionRemote role however candidate needs to live in Chicagoland area as there is some onsite work required as needed.
Coordinates activities and monitors compliance for reporting cancer-related data to appropriate accrediting bodies.
Abstracts and submits cancer cases according to prescribed requirements.
Performs appropriate research and provides accurate statistical data responses to registry inquiries.
Coordinates activities related to institutional conferences including publishing meeting calendars, preparing conference rooms, gathering case presentation data, tracking physician attendance, and documenting meeting minutes.
Performs monthly case finding to ensure all reportable cases are identified.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Advanced Cancer Registry Knowledge-[Required]
- Coding and Classification Systems-[Required]
- Regulatory and Accreditation Standards (CoC, NAPBC) [Required]
- Registry Software and Tools-[Required]
- Quality Assurance and Data Management- [Required]
- Leadership and Coordination- [Required]
- Associate degree in Health Information Management -[Required]
- Bachelor’s degree-[Preferred]
- 5+ yrs Cancer Registry experience with demonstrated abstracting and reporting proficiency-[Required]
- Experience working with CoC Accredited Cancer Programs-[Required]
- Experience preparing for CoC/NAPBC surveys and managing submissions to varies agencies and state requirements-[Required]
- Associate in Health Information Management [Required]
- Bachelor's [Preferred]
- 5+ cancer registry experience with demonstrated abstracting and reporting proficiency [Required]
- Experience preparing for CoC/NAPBC surveys and managing submissions to varies agencies and state requirements [Required]
- Experience working with CoC Accredited Cancer Programs [Required]
- National Cancer Registrars’ Association (NCRA) [Required]
- Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) [Required]
