Paramedic – Full-Time

• Functions as an Advanced Life Support (ALS) clinician responsible for the assessment, treatment, stabilization, and transport of patients in the prehospital and interfacility transport environments.
• Provide emergency medical care consistent with West Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services (WVOEMS) Scope of Practice and West Virginia Statewide EMS Protocols.
• Responsible for patient care, documentation, operational readiness of equipment and vehicles, professional conduct, and participation in training and quality improvement activities.
• Represent Monongalia EMS through professional interactions with patients, families, healthcare providers, public safety partners, and the community.

• National Registry of EMTs Paramedic registration and renewed every two (2) years.
• West Virginia Office of EMS Paramedic license or successfully obtain within one (1) month of hire and renewed every two (2) years.
• Valid Driver’s License with driving record acceptable by motor vehicle insurance carrier.
• Emergency Vehicle Operator Safety (EVOS) certification or successfully obtain within one (1) month of hire and renewed every four (4) years.
• Valid BLS for Healthcare Providers certification or successfully obtain within one (1) month of hire and renewed every two (2) years.
• Valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (or equivalent) certification or successfully obtain within one (1) month of hire and renewed every two (2) years.
• Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) certification or successfully obtain within one (1) month of hire and renewed within two (2) years of certification date.
• Emergency Pediatric Care (EPC), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or equivalent, or Pediatric Education for Prehospital Providers (PEPP) certification or successfully obtain within one (1) month of hire and renewed within 2 years of certification date.
• West Virginia Office of EMS Blood Endorsement or successfully obtain within one (1) year of hire and renewed annually.
• Successful completion of National Incident Management System (NIMS) within (1) month of hire IS 700:
  An Introduction to the National Incident Management System IS 100:
  Introduction to the IFC System IS 200:
  Basic Incident Command System for Initial Response IS 800:
  National Response Framework, an Introduction.

Demonstrates expertise in Advanced Life Support (ALS) patient care, including assessment, treatment, and stabilization in prehospital and interfacility transport settings. Holds essential certifications and licenses required for emergency medical services in West Virginia, ensuring compliance with state protocols and operational readiness.
