Location: Oquawka

  • Greet patients/visitors, determine their needs, and respond accordingly.
  • Schedule appointments. Review schedule frequently to ensure they are full.
  • Answer telephone and direct calls to appropriate departments as necessary.
  • Record and update patient demographic and statistical data.
  • Collect payment for services as applicable, write receipts for cash payments and post all payments daily.
  • Prepare daily cash reconciliation every day.
  • Scan documents into patient’s electronic health record.
  • Send Medical/Dental medical records.
  • Check insurance eligibility, copay, deductible and make appointment reminder calls.
  • On days, when housekeeping is not available, wipe down workstation, remove trash from restrooms and straighten lobby areas.
  • Check in the waiting room and restrooms hourly. Wipe down chairs using an anti-bacterial wipe, straighten up magazines, and clean up any messes.
  • Complete medical tasks assigned to them.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Wage Range

$15hr-24/hr

Site

Work Location:

Each employee has a primary work site(s) to which he/she is assigned. EVCHS, however, has multiple sites. Therefore, any employee may be asked to work at another site if the need arises. Administrative employees and contracted service providers may work from their homes, as agreed upon in their contract. No employee shall be asked to perform work outside his/her job description/capabilities

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of one-year previous office experience or similar education experience.
  • Knowledge of basic bookkeeping skills and basic office machine experience.

The employee is required to stand, walk, climb, occasionally balance, stoop and kneel. The employee must lift and/or move 10 pounds or more. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to operate a motor vehicle.

Work Environment:

The performance of this job takes place in a health center setting. The employee will be exposed to moderate levels of noise in a moderately paced environment. There will be frequent patient or client contact over the telephone and in person. The employee will also work with other EVCHS departments to deliver optimal service and meet health center goals.
