Position will cover all 4 hospital campuses - Bolingbrook Hospital, Glen Oaks Hospital (Glendale Heights), Hinsdale Hospital, La Grange Hospital
Weekday day shifts:
Hours vary depending on staffing and patient care needs.
Night on-call shifts: 5:00 PM to 6:00 AM
Weekend day shifts: 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Weekend night shifts: 5:00 PM to 6:00 AM
- Assesses, provides, and documents pastoral care to patients, families, and staff.
- Provides appropriate pastoral care to the local ministry and community through prayer and blessings.
- Provides consultation to patients, families, and medical staff with ethical decision making and values while making appropriate referrals as needed.
- Assists in planning, organizing, evaluating, and implementing the spiritual program with each local ministry to ensure spirituality initiatives are executed properly.
- Facilitates spiritual support and guidance to patients, families, and staff during times of crisis and transition.
- Collaborates with healthcare teams to integrate spiritual care into patient treatment plans.
- Conducts religious services, rituals, and ceremonies as needed.
- Offers emotional and spiritual support to staff to enhance their well-being and resilience.
- Develops and maintains relationships with local religious and community organizations.
- Provides education and training on spiritual care to healthcare staff.
- Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and spiritual needs.
- Maintains accurate records of spiritual care activities and interventions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's [Required]
- Master's [Preferred]
- Field of Study:
Bachelor's degree in theology, spiritual care or pastoral ministry
- 1+ of pastoral ministry or chaplaincy experience [Preferred]
- Minimum of 1 unit of ACPE, Inc. accredited CPE [Required]
- Minimum of 2 units of ACPE, Inc. accredited CPE [Preferred]
- Ordained Minister (ORDM) [Preferred]
- Commissioned Minister Credential (ADM) [Preferred]
- Ecclesiastical Endorsement Certificate (CHAPLAIN) [Preferred]
- Board Certified Chaplain (BCC) [Preferred]
Physical Requirements -
Pay Range$23.74 - $44.17
