Liberty Healthcare is seeking applicants for a Clinical Postdoctoral Fellowship in Psychology at the Illinois Department of Human Services Treatment & Detention Facility in Rushville, Illinois.
Program OverviewThe one-year fellowship (August 2027 – August 2028) is a full‑time position with a stipend of $60,000. Fellows will be considered for continued employment upon completion of the program and may have opportunities for positions within Liberty Healthcare’s clinical staff.
Responsibilities- Co‑facilitate sex‑offender specific group treatment (≈ 15 hrs per week).
- Manage a primary caseload of ≈ 15 residents, focusing on case management, treatment planning and case conceptualization; individual therapy is not required.
- Administer, score, and interpret at least six in‑depth psychological batteries and a few cognitive assessments during the training year.
- Receive a minimum of two hours of licensed supervision each week (one from the Director of Training & Research and one from a licensed psychologist).
- Intensive group treatment of sexually violent persons in a co‑therapist model of research‑driven, cognitive‑behavioral treatment.
- Primary therapist responsibilities with sexual offender populations, including individualized treatment planning and support.
- Administration, scoring, and interpretation of psychological tests and writing comprehensive psychological evaluations for offenders entering sex‑offender treatment.
- Research opportunities as available.
- Monthly all‑staff case conferences and group training in sexual offender treatment.
- Twice‑a‑week didactic seminars.
- Off‑site field trips.
Applicants must have completed a pre‑doctoral internship, successfully defended their dissertation, obtained a doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, and meet licensure eligibility requirements for the Illinois Licensed Associate Sex Offender Treatment Provider credential.
Offers are contingent upon passing all pre‑employment security procedures required by the Illinois Department of Human Services and Liberty Healthcare.
BenefitsThe position is full‑time (40 hrs per week, Monday–Friday) and includes a comprehensive benefits package with 180 hours (22.5 eight‑hour days) of paid time off, medical and dental insurance, and additional benefits as an employee of Liberty Healthcare.
