Overview

Chestnut Health Systems is seeking a Clinician to provide behavioral health services to youth and families through Youth and Family Support Services. This role provides individual, group, and family therapy while supporting youth and families through recovery-oriented, trauma-informed care. The Clinician will work collaboratively with families, schools, probation officers, and other community partners and may provide services in the youth’s natural setting when appropriate.

Responsibilities
  • Complete assessments, treatment/recovery plans, progress notes, and other required documentation in accordance with program, agency, and funder requirements.
  • Complete assessments and treatment/recovery plans by required due dates and submit progress notes and other required documentation within established timelines.
  • Provide consumer-driven services identified in treatment, recovery, and safety plans while meeting program productivity expectations.
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy to youth and families.
  • Use recovery-oriented and trauma-informed approaches that promote hope, respect, empowerment, health and wellness, and connectedness.
  • Support youth and families in developing self-directed recovery and use appropriate recovery language in documentation.
  • Provide referrals, linkage, and advocacy to community resources and family support services.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with youth, families, significant others, schools, probation officers, and other members of the youth’s support system.
  • Attend team meetings and consumer staffings and participate in program development activities.
  • Provide support and backup to other team members as needed.
  • Complete required Rule 132 supervision and mandatory Chestnut training and continuing education requirements, when applicable.
  • Provide services in the youth’s natural setting when appropriate.
  • Apply evidence-based practices, including CBT, trauma-informed care, and knowledge of developmental stages.
  • Take regular leadership roles with limited guidance and oversight.
  • Promote positive customer service interactions with consumers, families, coworkers, and community partners.
  • Maintain and protect the confidentiality of consumer, financial, and organizational information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or as agreed upon with the supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field.
  • At least 1,000 hours of supervised mental health experience.
  • Experience providing behavioral health services to youth and families preferred.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices such as CBT and trauma-informed care.
  • Understanding of developmental stages and their application to behavioral health services.
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and assume leadership responsibilities with limited supervision.
  • Valid driver’s license, private automobile insurance, and ability to be insured when applicable.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
