American Traveler is seeking an Outpatient Physical Therapist with 1+ year of outpatient experience for a day-shift assignment treating orthopedic and neurologic patient populations.
Requirements- IL PT license required if applicable, with proof of pending licensure accepted before start date
- Minimum 1 year of outpatient physical therapy experience required
- BLS certification required
- Experience treating orthopedic conditions including cervicalgia, low back pain, post-op cervical/shoulder/spinal surgery, and total hip/knee replacement
- Experience treating neurologic conditions including cognitive disorders, MS, muscular dystrophy, Parkinson's disease, post-stroke rehab, spinal cord injury, and TBI
- Skilled in home exercise program development and patient/family education
- Charting system experience required (any EMR)
- Outpatient clinic setting treating orthopedic and neurologic patient populations
- Day shift, 5x8 hour schedule, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Productivity expectations of approximately 60 visits per 40-hour week
- Ability to treat multiple patients simultaneously required
- Utilizes modalities and exercise equipment available at the facility
- Involves post-offer testing such as WorkSTEPS or APET, Work Hardening Evaluations, Functional Capacity Evaluations, and ergonomic or job analysis evaluations
- Evaluate and treat patients per physician referral or direct access
- Supervise physical therapy assistants and PT technicians in following the plan of care
- Maintain communication with referring physicians and rehab nurses regarding patient progress
- Understand and apply appropriate billing codes for various payer types
- Assist with business development and community outreach representing the clinic as needed
