Public Area Attendant Courtyard by Marriott Chicago Midway Airport Position Summary The Public Area Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and overall presentation of all public spaces throughout the hotel. This position plays a vital role in creating a welcoming, comfortable, and positive experience for guests by ensuring that lobbies, hallways, restrooms, meeting spaces, and other common areas are clean, organized, and maintained according to Marriott brand standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Clean and maintain hotel lobby, public restrooms, hallways, elevators, meeting rooms, fitness center, business center, and outdoor guest areas.

Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, polish, and sanitize assigned areas.

Empty trash and recycling receptacles and replace liners as needed.

Replenish restroom supplies.

Clean glass surfaces, windows, mirrors, and entry doors.

Respond promptly to guest requests.

Report maintenance concerns and safety hazards.

Assist with meeting room setup and breakdown.

Follow hotel safety, security, and sanitation procedures.

Maintain housekeeping storage areas and equipment.

Qualifications Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience preferred.

Strong attention to detail.

Excellent customer service skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Dependable and punctual.

Physical Requirements Stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.

Lift up to 30 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Work safely with cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
