Laundry Attendant Courtyard by Marriott Chicago Midway Airport Position Summary The Laundry Attendant is responsible for ensuring a consistent supply of clean, fresh linens and terry products for guest rooms and hotel operations. This position supports the housekeeping team by operating laundry equipment, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring all linens are processed efficiently and safely. The Laundry Attendant plays an important role in delivering an exceptional guest experience by helping maintain Marriott brand standards for cleanliness and presentation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operate commercial washers, dryers, and folding equipment according to hotel procedures.

Sort, wash, dry, fold, and organize linens, towels, washcloths, pillowcases, and other hotel laundry items.

Inspect linens for stains, damage, or excessive wear and remove unusable items from circulation.

Treat stains and follow proper laundering procedures for various fabrics.

Maintain adequate inventory levels of clean linens for housekeeping and hotel operations.

Deliver clean linens and terry products to designated storage areas.

Keep laundry facilities clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.

Monitor laundry supplies and notify management when inventory replenishment is needed.

Follow all safety, sanitation, and chemical handling procedures.

Report equipment malfunctions and maintenance issues promptly.

Assist housekeeping staff with linen distribution and other departmental needs as assigned.

Adhere to Marriott and hotel standards for cleanliness, quality, and guest service.

Qualifications Previous laundry, housekeeping, hospitality, or related experience preferred but not required.

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Strong attention to detail and quality standards.

Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to follow safety procedures and operating instructions.

Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.

Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling.

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.

Ability to work in a warm environment around laundry equipment.

Ability to safely handle cleaning agents and laundry chemicals.

Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as business demands require.
