Role Summary
This is an Onsite position based at our location in Portage, MI.

The Human Resources Manager is a key business partner to plant leadership, supporting hourly workforce populations and frontline supervisors. This role blends strategic HR partnership with hands‑on execution to drive a positive employee experience, consistent policy application, and a high‑performing, compliant work environment.
Job Responsibilities 1. HR Partnership (Operations-Focused)- Serve as the primary HR advisor to frontline supervisors on employee relations, performance management, and conflict resolution.
- Ensure consistent interpretation and application of HR policies across shifts and departments.
- Coach leaders on attendance, discipline, and documentation practices.
- Maintain active floor presence to proactively address workforce concerns.
- Act as the first point of contact for hourly employee relations matters.
- Conduct investigations and recommend appropriate actions for policy or compliance concerns.
- Guide leaders through corrective actions to ensure fairness and consistency.
- Identify trends and implement solutions to improve retention and engagement.
- Support recruiting efforts for hourly and salaried roles.
- Lead onboarding and orientation to ensure successful employee integration.
- Support new hires during their first 90 days to drive engagement and retention.
- Drive initiatives that promote engagement, safety, accountability, and teamwork.
- Support plant-level engagement programs and communication efforts.
- Partner with leadership to align employee experience with business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies.
- Maintain accurate HR records and support annual processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3 – 5 years minimum experience with strong employee relations focus.
- Experience supporting Human Resources in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication and influencing skills with frontline leaders.
- Solid knowledge of employee relations, employment law, and HR practices.
- Ability to balance strategic initiatives with hands‑on execution.
- Strong problem‑solving, decision‑making, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proficiency in HR systems (e.g., Success Factors, ADP) and Microsoft Office.
