We're partnering with a well-established, global manufacturer in the Chicago area that is seeking an experienced Interim HR Manager to join the business immediately. This role has arisen due to an upcoming departure on the HR team, and the organization is looking for a hands-on HR professional who can provide continuity and leadership while a permanent replacement is identified. Client Details Our client is a well-established manufacturer and distributor of consumer products that serves schools, educators, retailers, and families across North America.
With a reputation built on quality, innovation, and customer service, the organization has experienced steady growth and continues to invest in its people, operations, and product development. Description Serve as the lead HR contact for employees and managers across the site Provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, policy interpretation, and workplace investigations Support recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning initiatives Oversee employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, offboarding, and compliance documentation Partner with leadership on organizational and people-related matters Assist with benefits administration, leave management, and HR reporting Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws Maintain HRIS records and support ongoing HR projects and initiatives Profile 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including experience in an HR Manager, HR Business Partner, or Senior HR Generalist capacity Strong employee relations and employment law knowledge Experience supporting manufacturing, distribution, industrial, or multi-site environments preferred Ability to work independently and confidently advise managers at all levels Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Bachelor's degree preferred Job Offer Opportunity to make an immediate impact within a stable and growing organization High level of visibility and partnership with site leadership Fast-moving hiring process with an urgent need Collaborative, team-oriented environment Potential for extension depending on business needs MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
