Job Title: Windows and VMware Engineer

Location: Hyderabad (Primary), Bengaluru (Secondary) - Hybrid

Experience Level: Mid-Level / Senior-Level

Reports To: IT Infrastructure Manager / Systems Architect

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Windows and VMware Engineer to manage, support, and optimize our enterprise server and virtualization infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the IT systems, focusing on Windows Server environments and VMware-based virtualization platforms.

• Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server 2012/2016/2019/2022 environments.
• Manage and support VMware vSphere/ESXi environments, including VM provisioning, performance tuning, and resource management.
• Perform patch management, backup and recovery, and capacity planning.
• Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and security compliance.
• Participate in incident response and problem resolution for server and virtualization issues.
• Design and implement Active Directory, Group Policies, and DNS/DHCP configurations.
• Manage Windows Clustering, Hyper-V, and failover scenarios where applicable.
• Collaborate with networking, storage, and application teams to support project deployments.
• Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and changes.
• Support and implement Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions and testing.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in Windows Server administration.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi.
• Proficiency in Active Directory, Group Policy, Power Shell scripting, and server hardening.
• Experience with VMware Tools, Snapshots, Templates, and vMotion.
• Strong knowledge of ITIL practices, change management, and incident management.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Solar Winds, vRealize Operations, or similar).
• Good understanding of storage technologies (SAN/NAS) and their interaction with virtualization.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work under pressure.

• VMware certifications (e.g., VCP-DCV).
• Microsoft certifications (e.g., MCSA, MCSE, or Azure Administrator Associate).
• Experience with automation tools like Ansible or SCCM.
• Exposure to cloud environments such as Azure or AWS.
• Knowledge of VDI technologies (e.g., VMware Horizon).
