Description
Leidos, through the Digital Modernization Sector/Global Solutions Management-Operations II (GSMO-II) contract, is hiring an Implementations/Activations Network Engineer to support Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) services at Scott AFB, IL
. The engineer will perform installation oversight, configuration, testing, monitoring, and servicing of network equipment, and activate networks for projects supporting Department of Defense (DoD) networks.
Requirement: U.S. citizenship and an active Secret clearance.
Responsibilities- Coordinate with customers, solution architects, and vendor SMEs to execute Initial Test and Acceptance (IT&A) and ensure new service activations comply with DISA standards.
- Work directly with customers and stakeholders to implement changes, analyze, and resolve issues.
- Manage Service Orders per Change Management procedures and maintain accurate Telecommunication Service Orders (TSOs) for scheduled network additions.
- Initiate network device configurations using configlets and validate customer requirements with DISN and database analysis.
- Design and implement solutions for highly technical problems through testing, documentation, and configuration modifications.
- Coordinate circuit activation with commercial vendors to establish end‑to‑end connectivity.
- Perform network monitoring to assess the impact of deployed changes on customer traffic and document findings.
- Utilize systems analysis techniques to determine hardware, software, or system functional requirements and support customer resources.
- Engage with DISA project managers and customers to resolve unclear or incomplete requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to secure approvals and ensure continuous progress of service requests.
- Proficient knowledge of network hardware, configuration, testing, and industry specifications.
- Experience configuring, activating, testing, and analyzing network systems.
- Network engineering, problem management, and performance management experience.
- Understanding of telecommunications and information technology concepts.
- Knowledge of data and voice network design across military and commercial protocols (e.g., BGP, ISIS, VLAN).
- Experience with network services (BGP, OSPF, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, WAN, VPN, VLAN, VRF) and network appliances.
- Ability to work in a team and independently complete assignments while developing process proficiency.
- Strong written and verbal communication, team building, and collaboration skills.
- An active Secret security clearance is required.
- DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE or equivalent).
- Prior experience with DISA systems and processes.
- Experience with SharePoint data entry.
- Experience performing customer outreach.
- Experience with DISA Request Fulfillment processes and documentation (TSRs, TSOs, completion reports).
- Basic understanding of DoD policy and DISA organizational structure.
- Network certifications:
Cisco (CCNA, CCNP, etc.), Microsoft (MCSE, etc.), security certifications (Security+ CE, CISSP, etc.), ITIL.
Education and Experience
BS degree and 2–4 years of relevant experience or Master’s degree with less than 2 years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
Pay and BenefitsPay range: $59,150.00 – $. Compensation is based on responsibilities, experience, and applicable equity and market data.
