Overview

Manager, Identity & Access Management (IAM) - leads the university’s identity platforms and services, overseeing a team of engineers/analysts and ensuring secure, seamless access to campus systems.

• Lead a team of IAM engineers/analysts responsible for account lifecycle (joiner/mover/leaver) and authentication services.
• Design and maintain single sign‑on (SSO), multi‑factor authentication (MFA), and directory services using platforms such as Okta, Active Directory, Azure AD, LDAP, and integration middleware.
• Provide budgeting input, capacity planning, road‑map development, metrics and reporting, and incident and change management.
• Manage vendor and stakeholder relationships and deliver identity projects aligned with institutional strategy.
• Ensure compliance with policies and regulations including FERPA and GLBA.
• Advance digital transformation by reducing account‑provisioning time, increasing SSO/MFA adoption and improving user satisfaction.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Higher Education Administration, or related field.
• 5‑7 years progressive experience operating IAM platforms; at least 3 years of team leadership with people and project delivery responsibilities.
• Experience with enterprise IdP/SSO, directory services, MFA, and lifecycle automation.
• Credentials required before employment.
• Preferred:
  Master’s degree in related field; higher‑education environment experience; coordination with Enterprise Applications such as People Soft and NSHE/System partners.

• Deep knowledge of IAM concepts, digital identity lifecycle, and data security practices.
• Expertise in IdP/SSO, MFA, directory services, protocols (SAML, OIDC, OAuth2, SCIM, LDAP, certificate management).
• Working knowledge of budgeting, vendor management, and higher‑education governance (FERPA, GLBA).
• Familiarity with ITIL, change/problem management, and ITSM.
• Experience with Okta as primary IdP, Azure AD/Entra , and identity governance administration.
• Project planning and delivery, KPI setting, and cross‑stakeholder coordination.
• Coaching, inclusive culture building, and talent development.
• Data analysis, metric reporting, and process improvement.
• Advanced troubleshooting, automation, and scripting for routine tasks.
• Road‑mapping and migration leadership (e.g., consolidating legacy SSO to Okta).

Salary range: $120,000 to $127,500.
