Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a SOC Lead to support a company focused on federal cybersecurity operations, network defense, and protection of critical national security infrastructure. This position is on-site at Manassas, VA and Washington, DC
. The SOC Lead will oversee security operations, lead incident response efforts, and ensure continuous monitoring and protection of enterprise systems across a 24/7 environment. This is a mission-critical role defending sensitive systems against evolving cyber threats.
- Lead and manage a 24/7 Security Operations Center team, ensuring operational readiness and performance
- Direct incident response activities, including detection, analysis, escalation, and resolution of cybersecurity threats
- Analyze network traffic, logs, and threat intelligence to identify vulnerabilities and emerging attack vectors
- Oversee and optimize security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection platforms
- Communicate risks, incident findings, and security strategies to technical teams and senior leadership
- 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with 4+ years in a SOC leadership role
- Strong expertise with SIEM, IDS/IPS, network security, incident response, and threat detectionli>
- Proven leadership, analytical, and communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Active DOE Q Clearance or Top Secret Clearance
Salary Range: $150,000 - $170,000 depending on experience
