Key Qualifications and Desired

Experience:

  • Strong commitment to confidentiality and professional ethics.
  • Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (national or state level) highly valued.
  • Flexibility, patience, and a collaborative mindset.
Role Responsibilities:
  • Translate spoken or written communication into ASL and vice versa during classroom instruction, meetings, and school events.
  • Foster a supportive classroom environment by ensuring accessible communication for students and staff.
  • Collaborate with educators and other professionals to address individual student needs.
  • Provide interpretation for parent-teacher conferences, assemblies, and extracurricular activities as required.
  • Maintain professionalism in all interactions, adapting to the diverse needs of the school community.
