The Macoupin County State’s Attorney’s Office is seeking an attorney for a full‑time entry‑level position as an Assistant State’s Attorney. Duties include meeting with law enforcement and witnesses, filing criminal charges, negotiating and/or prosecuting traffic, misdemeanor, juvenile and limited felony cases.
Other duties may include working with animal control, drug court and truancy court. Some weekends and/or holiday bond court appearances and on‑call duties will be required. Salary is $70,000.00 to 80,000.00, commensurate with experience, plus health, dental and life insurance, and IMRF retirement.
