Police Academy – date to be determined for the  SY

• Physical Evaluation screening prior to acceptance to academy
• Three Year commitment working for SFDRCISD
• Pass State Test

Pay Grade: 7

Days: 226

Education/Certification

• High School Diploma or GED (Only GED certificates obtained through a GED Testing Center approved by the GED Testing Service (GETS) will be accepted.)
• Texas Peace Officer License issued by Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE)
• Valid Texas driver's license
• Individual recommended for the position must pay a $46.98 fingerprinting fee by credit card as part of the application process to be considered for employment. (Fee is subject to change.)

Special Knowledge/Skills

• General knowledge of criminal investigation, police report writing, and criminal laws
• Training and ability to subdue offenders, including use of firearms and handcuffs
• Bonded as required by Texas Education Code §37.081(h)
• Ability to pass required physical, psychiatric, and drug tests
• Ability to work well with youth and adults
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Possess strong organizational and time management skills

Additional Requirements

• Possess a valid Texas driver's license
• Minimum flexibility in work hours may be necessary
• Ability to pass required physical, psychiatric, and drug test

Experience

• Experience in law enforcement or related work experience
