Position Title:
Buyer – Supply Planner
We are seeking a Buyer – Supply Planner to support procurement and supply chain operations in a fast-growing food distribution environment. This role is responsible for supplier sourcing, purchasing activities, demand planning, inventory optimization, and ensuring supply chain continuity. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with proactive problem-solving to maintain efficient inventory levels, control costs, and ensure timely product availability.
Key Responsibilities Procurement & Supplier Management- Identify suppliers, negotiate pricing, and place purchase orders
- Monitor supplier performance, delivery timelines, and quality standards
- Follow up on orders to ensure timely delivery and accurate quantities
- Address product quality issues and coordinate with suppliers for resolution
- Negotiate delivery schedules aligned with procurement timelines
- Monitor inventory levels and optimize safety stock to minimize storage costs
- Contribute to forecasting activities and align sourcing with demand trends
- Place rush orders as needed to avoid stockouts
- Track key supply chain metrics including inventory turnover and service levels
- Maintain accurate product and vendor master data
- Track supplier budgets and ensure procurement activities align with budget targets
- Generate supply chain reports and analytics as needed
- Utilize Excel and ERP systems to analyze data, monitor trends, and support planning decisions
- Partner with Quality teams to ensure product compliance standards
- Identify supply chain risks and proactively implement mitigation strategies
- Support departmental initiatives and other procurement-related responsibilities as assigned
- Minimum 4 years of experience in purchasing, supply planning, materials planning, or related supply chain roles
- Strong understanding of procurement, inventory management, and demand planning principles
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred but not required)
- Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
