Serves as a Computer Assisted Ordering Technician in a commissary store at a Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) facility. The primary purpose of this position is to maintain accurate perpetual inventory balance on hand (BOH) levels, determine optimum ordering quantities, and ensure product availability for patrons.
Qualifications- Must meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) qualifications for series 1101.
- Experience
:
One (1) year of specialized experience using handheld terminals to gather data necessary to update and adjust inventory; ensuring optimal shelf space allocation; ordering product; and/or maintaining a perpetual inventory. - Education
:
Four (4) full years of successfully completed education above high school at an accredited business, technical, or academic institution. - Combination of experience and education
:
Divide total months of experience by 12, divide semester hours by 60, and add the two percentages. If the result is 100%, the minimum qualification is met. - Examples of qualifying experience include: use of handheld terminals, optimal shelf space allocation, product ordering, and/or maintaining a perpetual inventory.
- Volunteer experience (e.g., Peace Corps, Ameri Corps) will be credited as relevant qualifying experience.
Work may be performed in freeze and chill boxes, requiring protective clothing. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs without assistance. Physical exertion such as long periods of standing, bending, lifting, carrying, and reaching while searching for stock and replenishing shelves is required.
Work EnvironmentA significant amount of work is performed in a warehouse that is drafty and noisy. Special precautions are required while working around material handling equipment due to moderate risks or discomforts.
