This role does not own physical inventory management, cycle counting, or warehouse execution; it is focused on planning, scheduling strategy, and cross-functional coordination.
The Supply Chain Planning Manager leads a team of three Production Schedulers located across the company’s four manufacturing facilities, providing direction, standardizing planning processes, and ensuring alignment between production schedules, inventory targets, and overall business demand.
How you will make an impact:- Lead, mentor, and manage Production Schedulers at each manufacturing location, providing guidance, performance feedback, and professional development.
- Establish standardized scheduling processes, tools, and best practices across all manufacturing sites to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Review and approve site-level production schedules to ensure alignment with demand forecasts, inventory targets, capacity constraints, and customer commitments.
- Partner with Plant/Operations Managers to resolve scheduling conflicts, capacity constraints, and production bottlenecks.
- Monitor schedule adherence and attainment across sites, identifying root causes of variances and driving corrective actions.

Inventory Planning
- Develop and maintain inventory planning strategies, including target stocking levels, safety stock, and replenishment parameters for finished goods and, where applicable, raw materials/components.
- Analyze demand trends, forecast data, and historical usage to set inventory targets that balance service level goals with working capital objectives.
- Partner with Sales/Customer Service & Operations teams to translate demand forecasts into actionable inventory and production plans.
- Identify and proactively manage risks related to excess/obsolete inventory, stockouts, and supply-demand imbalances.
- Continuously evaluate and refine inventory planning parameters (e.g., min/max levels, reorder points, lead times) based on performance data.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Reporting
- Participate in and/or lead Planning meetings, providing visibility into production capacity, scheduling constraints, and inventory positions.
- Partner with Procurement, Operations, Sales, and Finance to align supply plans with business objectives.
- Develop and present key performance metrics (e.g., schedule attainment, inventory turns, fill rate, forecast accuracy) for senior leadership.
- Support new product introductions, site transitions, and network capacity planning initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to planning processes, systems, and tools.
This position manages the Production Schedulers at each manufacturing location (4 direct or indirect reports), including hiring, training, performance management, and ongoing development.
What you bring to the table:- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of progressive experience in production scheduling, inventory/materials planning, or supply chain planning within a manufacturing environment.
- Prior experience leading, managing, or coordinating the work of a team, including remote/multi-site teams.
- Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and demand/supply…
