Future Job Opportunity:
Janitor/Laundry Aide/Housekeeper

While we don't have an immediate opening for this role, we're building a pipeline of qualified candidates for upcoming opportunities.

• Complete any assigned task for the internal cleaning and cosmetic appearance of the complex including such items as dust mopping or other floor maintenance, rubbish and trash removal, the cleaning of walls, etc.
• Complete any assigned tasks for the external cleaning and maintenance of any complex-owned grounds which includes lawn upkeep, gutter work, raking, etc.
• Assist in the ferrying of supplies or equipment in corporate vehicles when directed and trained to do so.
• Respond to emergency calls as necessary
• Participates in regular in-service training and other quality assurance activities.
• Aides’ housekeepers and other personnel in the movement of furniture or equipment

• Complete all required tasks for the proper cleaning of patient’s rooms in each wing, including… Emptying trash, dusting fixtures, furniture, and walls. Moving furniture for the cleaning of floors, cleaning of bathrooms and its fixtures.
• Complete, according to schedule, tasks the cleaning of offices and lounges, ensuring that the areas are presentable for business.
• Observe all patients’ rights and their privacy. Knock on door before entering rooms, announcing Housekeeping.
• Participate in regular in-service training and other Quality Improvement activities.
• Assist in the cleanup of special affairs, returning the room to its normal state through the moving of chairs, trash removal, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Separate like items of wet linen into different tubs to be dried.
• Dry loads and prepare to fold.
• Fold:
  Towels, wash cloths and diapers, bibs, gowns, pillowcases, draws are all folded on tables in laundry. Sheets and blankets are folded by two aides.
• Fill the linen carts with linens.
• Deliver the carts to the floors. When floors call for linens, deliver in a timely manner.
• Personal Linens:
  Assist with unloading personal washers/dryers, hanging clothes if time permits.
• Wash:
  After the Washer has left for the day at 1:00 pm, the Laundry Aides collect linen from the floors, sort it and load washers. Apply appropriate cleaning solutions and run machines.
• Scheduled Maintenance:
  Clean lint from dryers every other load or as needed.
• At the end of the day sanitize tables and sweep floors. Once a week sanitize shelves and carts.
• Paperwork:
  Fill out a daily linen count sheet of linens sent to each floor.
• Attend in-services and mandatory education as required.

• Must be able to accept responsibilities for activities performed. Must be physically fit as bending, stooping, lifting, and mopping are required. Diplomacy is a must while working with patients or other personnel.
• Frequent exposure to unpleasant odors, contact with communicable diseases, blood, and body fluids.
• The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
• Walk or stand throughout the work shift. Be able to reach and grasp objects.
• Use one or both arms or hands (hand/arm) and/or one or both feet or legs (foot/leg) to move controls on machinery or equipment.
• Push and pull loads exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently to move objects.
• Stand at a workstation for periods of time and walk throughout the work shift.
• Be able to bend, stoop, reach and grasp objects.
