Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate leader to serve as our Domestic Violence & Homeless Shelters Program Manager. The Domestic Violence & Homeless Shelter Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a residential shelter serving survivors of domestic violence and individuals experiencing homelessness. This role supervises staff, ensures compliance with policies and regulations, and promotes a safe and supportive environment that encourages healing, stability, and self‑sufficiency.
Responsibilitiesand Duties
- Oversee 24/7 program operations and always ensure appropriate staff coverage.
- Develop and distribute monthly schedules to shelter staff.
- Ensure program participants receive case management, referrals for housing, legal, medical, counseling services, safety planning, and crisis support.
- Assist director in preparing agenda and facilitating bi‑weekly staff meeting; distribute meeting minutes within the week following the meeting.
- Provide and document monthly performance supervision with assigned staff.
- Coordinate staff development activities and ensure 100% compliance with all training requirements.
- Monitor staff service hour requirements to ensure that program operations are within requirements of all grants/funders.
- Collaborate to ensure timely preparation and submission of monthly and quarterly reports to program funders.
- Monitor bed utilization, intake processes, and discharge planning.
- Bachelor’s degree in social services or related field is preferred or equivalent life and/or professional experience.
- Three to five years of work experience in the human services field.
- Experience working in domestic violence and shelters preferred.
- Minimum two years supervisory experience preferred.
- Years’ experience with children and domestic violence preferred.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
