General Description

The Health Center Administrator is responsible for the overall leadership of Snyder Village Health Center. This position is responsible for the day to day Health Center operations, community relations, budget construction, and strategic planning. It is also accountable for hiring and supervising the appropriate key personnel to help carry out his or her duties.

Certification Requirements
  • DPR, State of Illinois, Licensed Nursing Home Administrator or Licensed Long
  • Term Care Administrator

  • Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implements and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of Snyder Village Health Center.

  • Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.
Job Responsibilities , Duties and Authority
  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the activities/services of the Snyder Village Health Center.
  • Participates in long range and short range strategic planning for Snyder Village Health Center.
  • Supervises the Director of Nursing, Social Service Director, Housekeeping/Laundry Director, Dietary Director, Activity Director, and Health Center Maintenance Director.
  • Carry out all Snyder Village policies.
  • Serves as the liaison between Executive Director and the Health Center staff.
  • Ensures that residents’ rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property and civil rights are strictly enforced.
  • Monitors the community environment to provide residents quality services, medical/nursing care, dignity and comfort in the least restrictive environment.
  • Participates in the development of the annual operating budget for the Health Center. Responsible for controlling costs within the Health Center budget and the efficient and effective utilization of manpower, supplies, and equipment.
  • Gives necessary attention to, and provides consistent leadership to assure the highest possible occupancy percentage and highest possible Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement rates.
  • Participates in public relations and fundraising functions.
  • Assures that written Health Center policies and procedures are developed, implemented and adhered to.
  • Delegates to Health Center administrative staff the authority, responsibility and accountability necessary to perform their assigned duties. Provides follow up and support to these employees to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Assists in devising or directs plans for Health Center disaster and emergency response.
  • Leads the Snyder Village campus wide safety committee and workmen’s compensation program. Works with key staff to assure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to safety, OSHA, and workmen’s compensation.
  • Remains current on legislation and regulations that may impact Snyder Village operations and ensures regulatory compliance; directs all records/reports required by licensing agencies.
  • Maintains effective working relationship with representatives of State and local agencies, industry peers and others involved in government.
  • Participates in community, state and national professional organizations, as approved by the Executive Director.
  • Attends and participates in local, state or national association meetings; maintains current education related to trends, new practices or designs for caring for residents.
  • Performs other related duties that may become necessary or appropriate.
