AboutThe Role
The Waste Process Technician I (WPT I) is an entry‑level position responsible for safely performing fundamental tasks such as off‑loading inbound trucks, waste stream QA/QC, verifying container count, manifest number, and other relevant data needed for waste processing. The role includes container sampling, recognizing non‑conforming material, and processing material through shredding operations, direct loading into a solidification pit, LDI, etc. The WPT I is expected to have a general mechanical understanding of waste processing equipment, specifically regarding forklift, forklift attachments, hose, and valve operation.
Responsibilities- Understand basic facility permit requirements and conduct daily activities to support all safety and compliance requirements.
- Operate a variety of equipment including but not limited to pressure washers, hand trucks, forklifts, and other power tools in accordance with company policies and procedures as well as OSHA requirements.
- Able to off load inbound packages, liquid trucks, and containers.
- Process inbound material using facility and mobile equipment.
- Complete and submit all facility associated paperwork (facility receiving, piece count, material verification, manifest review, etc.) associated with regulatory and safety record keeping paperwork.
- General cleaning of facility and grounds.
- High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred
- Reworld offers GED Works – a fully funded program for employees to achieve their GED.
- 1+ year of experience
- Able to pass respirator fit test
- Ability to utilize Net Suite
- Must exercise good judgment and problem‑solving skills
- Demonstrate attention to detail and time management
- Must be able to operate forklifts and hand trucks
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Kneeling, crawling, stooping, bending, or twisting for extended periods of time
- Walking and/or standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Consistently perform safely in various weather conditions and work environments.
Hourly pay rate: $20.57 – $25.13 per hour.
