Overview

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for a group of Mechanics and will oversee and assign daily work orders regarding project work, new construction, equipment installation, general building maintenance, emergency equipment repairs and assist other maintenance groups throughout the facility to support manufacturing goals and objectives. The role oversees the implementation of the plant’s existing maintenance program to include preventative maintenance. The Maintenance Supervisor will work in collaboration with the operating staff to ensure that the plant is safe and operates at peak conditions on a daily basis.

Due to the highly interactive nature of this manufacturing position, in-person attendance and flexibility are essential for supporting production schedules, effective communication and collaboration, real-time problem solving, and participation in cross-functional initiatives. Responsibilities
  • Manages and develops direct staff.
  • Assigns and supervises delegated daily work assignments in an efficient, safe manner and in accordance with established plant GMP and Safety policies.
  • Reports all observed safety hazards to manager.
  • Conducts daily inspection rounds of the facility noting the operational status of key equipment and support systems; communicates with operations departments to coordinate maintenance and repair work in process areas.
  • Directs the work activities of a group of multi-skilled Mechanics responsible for maintenance across the facility including general building maintenance, equipment installation, electrical construction, metal fabrication and welding, mechanical and sanitary piping, lift truck repairs and emergency equipment repairs.
  • Ensures equipment rooms, fabrication sites, and work areas are kept clean and orderly.
  • Plans and schedules work to minimize production downtime; ensures parts and supply orders are placed in advance and on site as needed.
  • Is on call as required by plant emergencies and operational needs.
  • Maintains knowledge of plant operations and can assist other departments or operational groups as needs require.
  • Maintains records of day-to-day maintenance and service activities; prepares reports, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance-related problems.
  • Evaluates subordinate performance and ensures maintenance technicians are trained on updated operating procedures.
  • Adheres to company policies, procedures, and OSHA rules while performing maintenance functions.
  • Understands and demonstrates the Company’s core values.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Education:

    High School/GED.
  • Experience in building maintenance, plant maintenance or general maintenance; prior experience in electrical controls and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of machinery repair techniques, machine shop practices, welding, electrical construction, pipe fitting, basic lifting and rigging principles, and proper use of hand and power tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to manage time and lead a team.
  • Ability to work with a cross-functional team, exhibit sound judgment, and perform with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with compliance to AIB, SQF, OSHA and other relevant standards is a plus;
    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred; relevant certifications are a plus.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $81, annually.
