Operator - Ringwood, IL Starting wage $23/hr (4% bonus potential)

Production Operator (2nd Shift or 3rd Shift)

Production Operator safely operate and maintain chemical processing equipment, troubleshoot issues, and ensure quality production while adhering to environmental and safety standards. Ideal candidates have mechanical aptitude, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work rotating shifts. This position reports to the production supervisor.

• Follow procedures to safely produce and package batches of chemical products that meet quality specifications
• Follow all company, plant policies & practices to ensure safety, quality, service, and cost objectives are met
• Utilize automated control systems along with manual operations to operate process equipment
• Weigh and accurately charge various chemicals to process vessels
• Work with various types of equipment to produce adhesives (e.g., pumps, filters, solids handling unit, packaging machines, reactors and mixers, etc.)
• Apply critical thinking to identify, troubleshoot and diagnose process and equipment issues
• Perform light maintenance, prepare equipment for others to safely perform maintenance and issue work permits
• Complete batch related documentation and production entries in SAP system
• Perform daily housekeeping tasks and maintain an organized work environment
• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervision
• Respond to emergency situations within the limits of training and qualifications
• Work as a team, respond to call outs and work overtime as needed
• Commit to safe and environmentally responsible operation of all aspects of a batch chemical process
• Operate Fork Truck, pallet jacks and other equipment to move/relocate materials

• Work under minimal supervisor work in a fast-paced production environment where safety, accuracy, and speed are essential, requiring effective communication and multi-tasking
• Understand and follow standardized and non-standardized procedures and ask questions when unsure
• Adhere to all plant safety and security rules, focusing on recognizing and avoiding hazards
• Perform basic math calculations and read process instructions
• Maintain safety and housekeeping practices and actively improve safety performance through feedback

• Pay high attention to detail for accurate material selection and provide double checks
• Complete assigned training and tasks within allotted time
• Use problem solving techniques to eliminate waste and errors
• Adhere to Bostik, OSHA, and local regulations/policies
• Understand production and process equipment
• Work with teams to achieve results including safety, customer and financial goals, and cleanliness
• Understand and carry out instructions on standardized or non-standardized requirements, methods, and procedures

• At least 18 years of age and must have and maintain a valid driver's license
• High school diploma, equivalent, or satisfactory work record required
• Read, write, and verbally communicate in English
• Calculate various measurements using basic math skills
• Prior Chemical Operator or Fork Truck experience preferred; additional training will be provided
• Perform essential physical functions: climb stairs and ladders, lift 55 pounds, connect hoses, operate manual valves, wear FRC and full-face respirator (clean-shaven)
